Robin Tibbals LMT
A few words with Robin Tibbals LMT, Oregon # 16526
| Oil, lotion or other?
I prefer to use a light oil that easily absorbs into the skin so clients don't feel oily. Oils are also required for hot stone massage, whereas lotions are great for deep tissue work. They absorb faster than oils which allows me to warm up the tissue with flowing strokes, then work deeper as the lotion is absorbed. If requested, I do not need to use oil or lotion. Favorite food? What is on my plate is usually my favorite. I love Thai food and almost anything with spices. I'm gluten intolerant which is disappointing because I love beer and pizza but alas.... I've also avoided non-fish flesh for the past 11 years. Why did you become an LMT? It was a pretty random decision. After almost 10 years as an environmental educator and environmentalist by profession, I moved to Portland to pursue a Masters degree in Hydrology. Within 6 months of being here, I decided I did not want to work behind a desk and I would rather make people feel better. I had received one massage thus far but it somehow called to me. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I absolutely love what I do and everyone leaves happy. I'm happy, my clients are happy, life is good!
Best thing about living in Portland? Ohhh, "best" is difficult! I would have to say the people! I have met some of the most amazing people in this city. I've started riding my bike everywhere, I never thought I would live in a city and I've been here for three years and now I cannot imagine being anywhere else I love it that much! I'm definitely a fan of keeping Portland Weird... I additionally love the fact that I can visit the snow, beach, and desert! I don't have to shovel out my car from the snow unless I choose to!
Cats, dogs or fish? I have a cat, she's the cutest thing ever! I love dogs too and someday one will find me. Until then I am the eternal Auntie to many pooches! Fishes are delicious! Personally, I don't like cleaning tanks, reptiles however, are pretty awesome pets!
